Vom Gro\u00dfstadt-Dschungel bis zur kleinsten Insel: Das Plastikproblem ist allgegenw\u00e4rtig und zeigt die verschiedensten Gesichter. Doch eines haben alle Gesichter gemeinsam: Es ist einfach viel zu viel.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Sicherlich muss ich mich mittlerweile zu den Plastik-Nerds z\u00e4hlen, kann bei vielen Kleinigkeiten nicht wegsehen und bin super kritisch. Das ganze Thema Plastik & Ozean spielt seit ca. 3 Jahren eine gro\u00dfe Rolle in meinem Leben. Jetzt wieder in S\u00fcdost Asien zu sein und deutlich sensibilisierter in dem Bereich zu sein ist schon fast anstrengend ? Aber ich m\u00f6chte diese Eindr\u00fccke gerne mit euch teilen.<\/p>\n

Dieser Blog Beitrag ist in zwei Teile gegliedert, zuerst widme ich mich dem modernen Teil Malaysias, dem Leben in der Hauptstadt Kuala Lumpur, bevor es im zweiten Teil um die entlegensten kleinen Inseln geht.<\/p>\n

Kuala Lumpur<\/h3>\n

Von allen \u201eKL\u201c genannt ist die Hauptstadt Malaysias f\u00fcr mich in erster Linie faszinierend. Ca. 8 Millionen Menschen in der Metropolregion, ca. 1,5 Millionen Menschen Downtown und alles ist bunt, ethnisch gemischt und voller Leben. F\u00fcr S\u00fcdost Asien ist KL sehr westlich, zumindest an einigen Stellen. Man findet Superm\u00e4rkte, die auch in jeder deutschen Gro\u00dfstadt stehen k\u00f6nnten. Auch wenn es sicherlich nicht mein erster Weg w\u00e4re, wollte ich in den auf 18 Grad temperierten Supermarkt, um einfach mal genau hinzusehen.<\/p>\n

Auf den ersten Blick sieht alles wirklich sehr \u00e4hnlich aus. In Plastik verpackte Salate, Plastikschalen mit Plastikh\u00fclle f\u00fcr Pilze, das alles ist nicht sch\u00f6n aber leider so wie in fast jedem deutschen Supermarkt. An der Kasse sieht man aber deutlich mehr Plastik T\u00fcten und es ist komplett normal den ganzen Einkauf doppelt und dreifach in d\u00fcnne T\u00fcten zu packen, die bei schwereren Sachen sogar mehrlagig verwendet werden m\u00fcssen. Ein weiterer Unterschied ist sicherlich diese absurde Art der Verpackung, bei welchen ich nicht wei\u00df, ob man lachen oder weinen soll. Gesch\u00e4lte Zwiebeln und Knoblauch in Plastik verpackt\u2026 Man nimmt die nat\u00fcrliche perfekte Verpackung, um sie durch Plastik zu ersetzen, unfassbar unn\u00f6tig. Gleiches gilt f\u00fcr bereits aufgeschnittene Ananas und gesch\u00e4lte Kokosn\u00fcsse. Hier sind wir sicherlich schon etwas weiter, aber wenn man sich in unseren Superm\u00e4rkten mal genau umsieht ist das einfach auch eine Katastrophe.<\/p>\n

Meine Reiseausstattung ist denke ich schon ganz gut: Festes Duschgel, verpackungsfreie Zahnpasta (in Form von Tabletten in einem Glas), Reisebesteck, Metallstrohhalme etc., doch ich muss auch feststellen, dass es zuhause deutlich leichter ist plastikfrei oder zumindest mit sehr wenig Plastik auszukommen. Der Hygienestandard ist in Malaysia deutlich geringer, also wird vieles doppelt in Plastik verpackt, bevor es staubig oder dreckig wird. Man trinkt hier einfach nicht direkt aus z.B. Coladosen, weil man nicht wei\u00df wo die M\u00fcndung der Dose davor schon \u00fcberall war, also dann eben der Strohhalm.<\/p>\n

Doch auch, wenn diese Plastikfallen mit ein bisschen Wille und Vorbereitung umgangen werden k\u00f6nnen, hatte ich einfach das gro\u00dfe Problem des Trinkwassers. Leitungswasser kann man nicht trinken, also bleibt einem an Orten, wo es keine Trinkwasserbrunnen oder Refill Stationen gibt (beides selten) fast nichts anderes \u00fcbrig, als Wasser in Plastikflaschen zu kaufen. Diese landen dann im M\u00fcll oder auf Sammelstellen. Final endet alles auf unfassbar gro\u00dfen Deponien, wie der \u201eWorldwide Environment\u201c Deponie S\u00fcdlich von Kuala Lumpur. Dort bleibt der M\u00fcll dann erstmal, es werden einzelne Bestandteile rausgepickt aber das Gro\u00dfe und Ganze schmort und schmiert in der Hitze Malaysias vor sich hin, stinkt und d\u00fcnstet aus.<\/p>\n

Bei uns kann man sich zumindest gl\u00fccklich sch\u00e4tzen, dass das Leitungswasser in Deutschland und besonders in M\u00fcnchen so gut ist, das sollte man nat\u00fcrlich auch nutzen, wenn man schon die M\u00f6glichkeit hat.<\/p>\n

Dieser ganze Plastik Wahnsinn ist nat\u00fcrlich schwer mit anzusehen. Besonders der gedankenlose Konsum von Plastik\u2026 Auch in meinem malaysischen Freundeskreis, in welchem sich viele Taucher und gut ausgebildete Leute befinden wird ohne nachzudenken zu jeder T\u00fcte und zu jedem Strohhalm gegriffen und aus Komfort auch eine einzelne Wasserflasche in eine T\u00fcte gepackt, weil das ja leichter zu tragen ist. Wie es dann die Leute sehen oder eben nicht sehen, die keinen Bezug zum Ozean oder zur Umwelt im Allgemeinen haben ist dann ja abzusehen.<\/p>\n

Vielleicht liegt es daran, dass ich in Deutschland in meinem Umfeld viele Leute habe, die sich aktiv mit dem Thema auseinandersetzen, ich den entsprechenden Seiten auf Social Media folge und mein Feed dadurch voller Nachhaltigkeitsideen etc. Aber dass es selbst in den westlichsten Teilen S\u00fcdostasiens (noch) ganz anders aussieht, musste ich mal wieder feststellen und dieses Mal mit deutlich mehr Sensibilit\u00e4t f\u00fcr das Thema und mehr Hintergrundwissen.<\/p>\n
