Die vielversprechende Konferenz k\u00fcrzlich COP 26 hatte zum Ziel viele verschiedene Politiker und Industrievertreter zusammenzubringen, um neue Ma\u00dfnahmen beim Klimawandel zu
\nergreifen. Hier geben wir euch einen kleinen \u00dcberblick, was passiert oder auch nicht passiert ist:<\/h6>\n

Geplante Reduktion der Kohlekraftwerke, Abholzungsverbot der Regenw\u00e4lder in S\u00fcdamerika ab 2025, das globale Bekenntnis zum 1,5 \u00b0 Ziel und viele andere Ma\u00dfnahmen wurden beschlossen. Doch fragt man sich, ob auch etwas Konkretes bei der Verm\u00fcllung der Meere durch Plastik entschieden wurde?<\/div>\n
Es sind n\u00e4mlich nicht nur W\u00e4lder, die uns mit dem kostbaren Sauerstoff versorgen, sondern auch die Ozeane. Mehr als 50 % des Sauerstoffs, den wir einatmen, werden uns n\u00e4mlich vom Phytoplankton zur Verf\u00fcgung gestellt<\/strong>, welches an der Ozeanoberfl\u00e4che lebt. Es besteht aus vielen pflanzlichen Mikroorganismen, die mit einer \u201eKohlenstoffdioxid-Pumpe\u201c
\nverglichen werden. Es tauscht permanent Energie, Gase, Feuchtigkeit und W\u00e4rme mit der Atmosph\u00e4re aus und reduziert dadurch auch die Temperaturunterschiede zwischen dem Nord- du S\u00fcdpol und dem \u00c4quator. Es reguliert somit auch das Klima.<\/div>\n

Wissenschaftliche Studien haben bereits nachgewiesen, dass durch den steigenden Mikroplastikanteil im Ozean, Phytoplanktons F\u00e4higkeit Kohlenstoffdioxid zu absorbieren auch abnimmt<\/strong>. Zus\u00e4tzlich leidet die Meeres Biodiversit\u00e4t drunter und mehr als 1400 von verschiedenen Meerestierarten sind von der Mikroplastikverschmutzung negativ betroffen.
\nWenn dieser Zusammenhang nicht klar erkannt wird und mit entsprechenden politischen Ma\u00dfnahmen nicht schnell genug gegengesteuert wird, riskieren wir auf diese Art der Lunge unserer Welt immer mehr zu schaden. Wenn heute 4-8 % vom \u00d6lverbrauch mit Plastik verbunden wird, wird dieser Anteil bis 2050 ohne entsprechende Reduktion mit der steigenden Nachfrage auf 2050 sich erh\u00f6hen.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Die Stimmen nach der Bek\u00e4mpfung der Ozeanverschmutzung wurden in Glasgow w\u00e4hrend der COP 26 Konferenz daher tats\u00e4chlich immer lauter.<\/strong> Walter Roban, der UK- Overseas Verteter rief die Staaten dazu auf, aggressive Ma\u00dfnahmen im Kampf gegen die Plastikverschmutzung zu ergreifen. Andere Forschungs-Initiativen und Klimaaktivisten pr\u00e4sentierten ebenfalls ihre Stellungnahmen und konkrete Vorschl\u00e4ge, um den Plastikkonsum langfristig in den Griff zu bekommen. So schlug beispielsweise die Universit\u00e4t von Portsmouth einen \u201eBeweissicherungs-Ansatz\u201c bei der Plastik-Politik vor. Die politischen Ma\u00dfnahmen sollen sich folglich mehr nach konkreten Kriterien und dem Beweismaterial ausgerichtet werden, um mehr Effizienz bei der Planung von Politik zur Plastikreduktion zu erreichen<\/strong>. Daraus soll dann ein \u201eGlobal Plastics Policy Center\u201c entstehen, in wessen Rahmen mehr als 100 politische Ma\u00dfnahmen zur Plastikpolitik evaluiert werden. Das Forschungszentrum strebt eine Online-Plattform mit Fallstudien, zahlreichen Videos und anderen Ressourcen als Endresultat an.<\/div>\n

Fazit der Konferenz ist daher sehr eindeutig. Es muss mehr getan werden, und zwar m\u00f6glichst schnell.<\/strong> Politik greift oft zu langsam<\/strong> und w\u00e4hrend unser Plastikkonsum ansteigt, verschmutzen wir unbewusst auch die unsichtbaren Lungen der Erde in den Ozeanen. Um die Vielseitigkeit des Problems effizient zu bek\u00e4mpfen, muss an vielen Stellen angesetzt werden und die schwerwiegenden Folgen des passiven \u201eNichts-Tun\u201c verstanden werden.<\/div>\n

Die Entscheidung f\u00e4ngt aber schon bei uns beim Kauf eines Plastikbechers f\u00fcr ein Getr\u00e4nk an.<\/strong> Solange keine geeigneten Alternativen attraktiv genug sind, wird die Nachfrage nach Plastik auf absehbare Zeit auch nicht abnehmen. Hier muss die Politik mit den Vertretern der Industrie, Unternehmen und Verbrauchern zusammenkooperieren.<\/div>\n
